Candidate For

 U.S. Congress; South Carolina’s District 7

The American Dream

In 1931 James Truslow Adams said that the American Dream is a set of ideals in which Freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success for family and children through hard work, with few barriers. In today’s America, it seems to be a misplaced reality according to researchers and politicians alike.

In countries all over the world, there have been attempts to insert these same ideals. As power turned over, from one to another, slowly their freedom of The Dream diminished. Socialism and Communism has become the law of the land in countries all over the world preventing individual prosperity and, in many cases, their right to happiness. The heads of these countries did not implement these changes overnight, it happened over time and as it takes hold, tyrannical governments rule with iron fists.

In America, we are seeing much of what we have seen in other countries. Our news and information accesses are censored, removing information that contradicts what our government wants us to believe, our freedom to enter public places without hindrances is no longer possible in many places, our freedom to work in fields where our expertise lays are now being regulated, medical treatments are being denied while vaccinations, with no long-term studies, are being forced upon us. Slowly, our government is chiseling away our rights.

The Declaration of Independence was a marking of why we need our freedoms. There were 27 abuses committed by King George III that influenced the need for this document and to get out from under his control. You might find some of these familiar like; Refusal to Assent to Laws, Forbidding Governors to pass laws, Fatiguing invasions on the Rights of the People, Abusing legislative power, Imposing taxes without our consent, Waging war against our Governors, and Inciting domestic insurrections among us. I encourage you to look up the Declaration of Independence and read it slowly, fully feeling every word.

We must elect officials and representatives that believe in The American Dream being made possible to EVERYONE without hindrance, prejudices, or discriminations. This is our Country! Let’s take it back!!

My name is Jeanette Spurlock, Candidate for US Congress to Represent South Carolina’s 7th District.
