Is On To The Next Political Adventure
Jeanette Marie Spurlock
Candidate For
U.S. Congress; South Carolina’s District 7
A Multitude of Issues
There has been so much in the news lately. I have been trying to wrap my mind around a single issue to write about but as luck would have it, I cannot seem to do that. This writing will be about what has been on my mind the last couple of weeks.
Social Media Censorship is at the top of my list. How is it constitutional to allow Big Tech to determine what is factual and what is not? To make matters worse, our very own government is now trying to partner with them to determine “together” what is misinformation. To be successful at picking through our posts and comments they will have to keep tabs on Americans. How will they accomplish that? Will they be spying on us? How does that make you feel that if you say one thing against our government that they will put you on a list? I do not like how it sounds nor how it feels and as your Representative you have my promise that under my watch, they will have a fight on their hands!
Border crossings are another thorn in my heart. The illegals crossing our border from Mexico is not slowing down. We are hearing almost daily about arrests, human trafficking, and confiscations of drugs at our border by those who are surely not escaping climate change issues. We are still housing detainees and paying it right out of the taxpayer’s daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly deposits. These investments into housing or detaining these illegals, do nothing to better our country and in fact do the complete opposite. We have the power to stop it, but for some reason they only wish to practice it on Cubans. Our very own Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas has called in the US Coast Guard to monitor the Florida and Caribbean Straits by air and water to redirect migrants who are truly in need of asylum, from a tyrannical government, from reaching the coast of The United States. As your Representative, you have my promise that I will fight hard to ensure that our borders are secured, to have a heart when necessary and that entry into our country illegally is once again a crime.
Last by not least, is the abandonment of the constituents that live in TX. I know, I know, we do not live in TX but I am sure we can all agree that what is allowed in smaller governments, will eventually become the norm. When this story first broke that 50+ Democrats abandoned their elected seats and, via private jet, headed to Washing DC to avoid fighting for the people of their district I was appalled. There comes a time in every fight that one side outweighs the other. There are wins and there are loses on all issues. As Representatives, whether State or Federal, it is our duty to serve our constituents no matter the odds. To be their voice, to be able to stand proudly and tell them that you did everything you could to win on the issue, that you did not run, you did not hide, you did not remain silent and that you are still there and ready to take back up the issue and try again. As your Representative you can rest assured that is the representation you will receive from me. I will never abandon you.
My name is Jeanette Spurlock, your Candidate for US Congress, Representing SC’s 7th District
